A native of Homerville, GA, Mr. Palmer was born February 25, 1972, son of Terry and the late Jackie Marie Vickers Palmer. He was a 1990 graduate of Atkinson Co. High School, where he was an outstanding athlete, especially in football. Mr. Palmer was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many fishing trips with his father and grandfather. He was a ten year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Vickers Palmer; brother, Jamey Palmer and paternal grandparents, “Short” and Betty Palmer. Survivors include, Father and stepmother, Terry and Lita Palmer of Pearson, GA; maternal grandparents, Jack and Jean Vickers of Pearson, GA; step-brothers, M Matthew Davis of Pearson, GA, Mike Davis of Woodstock, GA; stepsister, Sheila S Sholtis of Manor, GA; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Graveside Funeral services for Mr. Palmer were held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Red Bluff Cemetery with Bishop Dan Vickers and Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. Special musical selections included, “Amazing Grace,” “Riverbank” and “When I Get Where I’m Going” rendered by Charles and Tammy Wo Tammy Wood, with Charles Wood on guitar. The interment followed in Red Bluff Cemetery with Military honors rendered at the gra the gravesite. Serving as active pallbearers were Jeff Vickers, Bren Mullis, Chad Palmer, Andy M Andy Mercer, Michael Gillis, Jim Hall. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Class of 1990 ATCO Football Players.
