A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Park was born November 18, 1918, daughter of Abe Sr. and Eliza Tanner Minchew. She was a homemaker and had made her home in the Stokesville Community for the past 12 years, prior to that she lived in Waycross, GA and Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Park enjoyed participating in many different organizations while living in Waycross, GA that included the Rose Club, Garden Club, Camelia Club, Bird Watching Club, and the Wesley Trotters of First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Park was a member of Stokesville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Park, and one son, Robert Burton Park. Survivors include son, Lamar Park and wife Joanne of Axson, GA; daughter, Marian Yolanda Croy of Raleigh, NC; sister, Melba Ray of Hapeville, GA.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Park were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Stokesville Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Pierce, Rev. Theron Long, and Rev. Edgar Musgrove officiating. The eulogy was given by Mrs. Park's son, Bishop Lamar Park. Her sister, Melba Ray, gave special family memories. Special musical selections included, "In the Garden" rendered by soloist, Kay Pierce, and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the congregation, with Patty Spivey, pianist. The interment followed in Stokesville Cemetery with a special musical number, "How Great Thou Art" rendered acappella by Amy Johns. Dedication of the grave was given by Bishop Lamar Park. Serving as active pallbearers were David Park, Ray Park, Jimmy Park, Scott Stewart, Marcus Cofield, Andy Cofield. Honorary pallbearers were David Batchelor, Ed Gillis, Hiram Tanner, Wilmont Pierce, David Spivey, Wade Tanner, Jess Tanner, Adair Tanner, Ben Tanner, Ralph Tanner, Jonathan Tanner, Mark Tanner, Brad Newman, Don Ray, Reef Mullis, Bren Mullis, Bill Kirkland, Terry Wheaton, Joe Kirkland and all members of Stokesville Baptist Church.
