A native of Macon, GA. Mr. Parks was born Aug. 20, 1936 son of William and Janie Bartlett Parks. He had made his home in Lakeland, GA for the past 20 years and was a retired printer. Mr. Parks was a member of the South GA. Sr. Golf Association. Survivors include his wife, Gladys G. Parks of Lakeland, GA; sons, Jamie E. Parks, Jr. and wife Sarah of Valdosta, GA and Ronald D. Parks and wife Sue of Lakeland, GA; daughter, Bridgett Michelle Parks of Valdosta, GA; brothers, William J. Parks and wife Catherine of Jacksonville, FL and Bill Parks and wife George of Tifton, GA; sisters, Ann Parks of Sylvester, GA and Betty Lister and husband Wayne of Sylvester, GA; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Parks were at 2 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2006 at Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Burch officiating. Special musical selections included "Old Country Church" and "I Am Blessed" rendered by the congregation with Margaret Williams accompanying at the piano, and "If You Get There Before I Do" played by tape. Postlude was provided by Margaret Williams, pianist. The interment followed in the Sunnyside Cemetery. Service as active pallbearers were William Lee Hufsteler, Michael Hufsteler, Rodney Hufsteler, Charlton Parks, Wayne Lester and Willie Parks.
