A native of Knoxville, TN, Mrs. Paulk was born Mary 2, 1921, daughter of John W. and Emily Gertrude King Morton. She had made her home in Willacoochee for most of her life and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Beulah United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of UMW. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verdayne Paulk. Survivors include five sons, John Paulk and wife Marion of Maryville, TN, Dick Paulk and wife Barbara of Charlotte, N.C, Bill Paulk and wife Kay of Willacoochee, Jim Paulk and wife Tammy of Willacoochee, GA, Robert Paulk and wife Diana of Cartersville, GA; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Paulk were held Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Beulah United Methodist Church with Rev.Jan Conner and Rev. Eddie Morrison officiating. Special musical selections included ""Blessings"" a cd recorded by Mrs. Paulk's granddaughter, Tracy Griffin, "In the Garden" and "Victory in Jesus" rendered by the congregation with Margaret Grantham leading and Beth Paulk accompanying on the keyboard and "Serenaded by Angels" rendered by soloist Tammy Paulk with taped accompaniment. Soft music of the prelude and the postlude was by Beth Paulk playing the keyboard. The interment followed in Paulk Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Mike Tucker, Mark Tucker, Cray Grantham, Trevor Carter, Danny Paulk, Don Paulk. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Beulah United Methodist Church or to the Methodist Children's Home. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
