Atkinson County Citizen - April 19, 2007
 Mrs. Vonice Courson Pelz age 96 of Pearson, GA passed away Wednesday, April 4, 
2007 at home following an extended illness.
 Mrs. Pelz was born in Coffee County, October 9, 1910, daughter of Levi and 
Lessie Adams Courson. She was a homemaker and a member of Sweetwater Methodist 
Church. Mr. Pelz was preceded in death by husband, Frank Pelz and son, Bernard 
Pelz.
 Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Walker of Pearson, GA, Nita Walker of 
Pearson, and Nell Tanner and husband, Johnny of Pearson, GA; brother, Ralph 
Courson of Pearson, GA and sisters, Nelva Carlton of Ooltewah, TN and Beadie 
Swygert of Dalton, GA; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two step 
great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews 
also survive.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Pelz were held at 4 p.m. April 6, 2007 at Sweetwater 
Methodist church with Rev. Jimmy Scott and Mr. D. Q. Pittman officiating. 
Special musical selections included "Amazing Grace" rendered by Dianne Leggett, 
acapella and "You Don't Have TO Walk ON Water For Me" rendered by Dianne 
Leggett with taped accompaniment. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was 
provided by Brad Courson, pianist. The interment followed in Sweetwater 
Cemetery with special music. "In The Garden" provided D.Q. Pittman on the 
guitar and Cleveland Register on the harmonica.
 Service as active pallbearers were Locke Tanner, Glen Waler, Shawn Knight, 
James Gore, Jr., Bernard Pelz, Jr., Jose Garcia.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
