Atkinson County Citizen - Auggust 15, 2013
 Rogelio Perez, age 16, of Willacoochee, GA passed away Saturday, August 3, 
2013 as a result of a accidental drowning in the Alapaha River near 
Willacoochee, GA.
 A native of Ixmiquilpan Hidalso, Mexico, Rogelio was born November 3, 1996 son 
of Andres and Maria Huapilla Perez. He was a rising junior at Atkinson County 
High School where as a freshman he played on the soccer team and was a member 
of the FCCLA Club. He was a well respected student by his fellow students and 
teachers and always tried to do his best in the classroom. He was of the 
Catholic faith.
 Survivors include, Parents, Andres and Maria Perez of Willacoochee, GA; 
brother, Andres Perez, Jr. of Willacoochee, GA; sister, Kimberly Perez of 
Willacoochee, GA; maternal grandparents, Crecensiano and Victoria Zapote 
Huapilla of Mexico; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and 
friends also survive.
 Funeral Mass for Rogelio was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at St. 
Paul Catholic Church with Father Nicholas Mansell officiating. Eulogies were 
given by family and friends. Special music was provided by the St. Paul 
Catholic Church Choir. 
 The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Rodrigo Huapilla, Carlos A. Garcia, 
Fernando Perez, Armando Huapilla Perez, Hugo Perez, Maurilio Huapilla Perez.
 Honorary pallbearers were members of the 2013 – 2014 class and all other 
students of Atkinson County High School.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
