He departed this earthly life on September 29, 2012 at Co Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. Alphonso was a graduate of Atkinson County High School located in Pearson, GA w where he was a member of the band. Later, he became employed at Golden Poultry l located in Douglas, GA. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Mrs. Sara M. Day Perkins of Willacoochee, GA; sisters, Rev. Patricia E. (Jimmy) Roberts and Pamela D. Perkins both of Willacoochee, GA; brother, James Perkins, Jr., of Macon, GA; a special niece, Kortney Gaskin and a special nephew, Jaxen Davis both of Willacoochee, GA; three nieces, Jamee Perkins, Tashi Perkins and Bosnia Perkins; a great-nephew, Allandis Perkins; a great-niece, Jaya Evans, all of Milledg Milledgeville, GA; three aunts, Delois Day of Bridgeton, NJ, Sarah Day of Willaco Willacoochee, GA, and Elizabeth Day of Columbus, GA; four uncles, Homer (Caroli (Caroline) Day (godparents) of Tifton, GA, Phillip (Lorene) Day of Axson, GA, Pastor Pastor Willie Perkins of Willacoochee, GA and Albert Perkins of Atlanta, GA; a special special older brother Gregory O. Grant of Walthourville, GA; special friends and nei and neighbors, James and Mrytice Williamson and D.J. Thomas of Willacoochee, GA; a s GA; a special friend, Clarence Burch of Douglas, GA and a host of relatives and friends friends. Funeral services were held at St. Paul A.M.E. Church on Saturday, October 6, 2012 a 2012 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Johnnie M. Fleming, Rev. William Fleming, Rev. Darryl Casey, Casey, Rev. Ricky Thomas and Rev. Patricia E. Roberts presiding. Special music was pr was provided by soloist Ms. Maxine Carter and the church choir. Mr. James Willia Williamson and Mr. Sean Day gave reflections of Mr. Perkins. Interment services following at West Oakridge Cemetery. Pallbearers included Carl Day, David Day, Frederick Day, Bryant Day, Michael Day, Day, Roy Day, Sean Day. Honorary Pallbearers were the Class of 1986. Nixon Funeral Home, Tifton, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
