Atkinson County Citizen - April 14, 2005
 Mrs. Juanita Wilson Pittman, age 91, of Axson, GA passed away Saturday 
afternoon, April 9, 2005 at her home following an extended illness.

 A native of Bulloch County, Mrs. Pittman was born December 5, 1913 daughter of 
John L. and Florence Jarriel Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of the 
Axson Evangelistic Church. Her husband, Dwight Pittman, two sons, Jimmy Pittman 
and Bobby Pittman, three grandchildren, Pierce Pittman, Allen Dawson, and 
Robert Pittman and a great grandson, Alex Pittman, preceded Mrs. Pittman in 
death.

 Survivors include three daughters, Shirley McKinnon and husband Henry of 
Pearson, GA, Carolyn Dawson and husband Neal of Axson, GA and Vonita Davis and 
husband Jerome of Axson, GA; two sons, Doyland Pittman and wife Ivy of Pearson, 
GA and D.Q. Pittman and wife Glenda of Pearson, GA; sister, Wilena Driskel of 
Lyons, GA; 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great-great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Funeral services for Mrs. Pittman were held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005 
at the Axson Evangelistic Church with Rev. James Drake officiating. Special 
musical selections included "When He Reached Down His Hand For Me" rendered by 
soloist, Shannon Toole with Freda Simmons accompanying at the piano, "Amazing 
Grace" rendered by the congregation with Freda Simmons accompanying at the 
piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Freda Simmons, 
pianist. The interment followed in Axson Cemetery.

 Serving as active pallbearers were grandson Anthony McKinnon, Ashley McKinnon, 
Christopher Dawson, Jayson Davis, Darrell Pittman and Mike Pittman.

 Serving as honorary pallbearers were Neal Dawson, Henry McKinnon, Bob Gray, 
Jerome Davis, Billy Davis, Jimmy Mullis, G.F. Mullis and Ellie Morris.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
