A native of Sacramento County, CA, Mrs. Relihan was born Dec. 7, 1952 daughter of Ne of Nerle and Billye Batten. She had made her home in Brunswick for the past 26 years years and was of the Baptist faith. She was a 1970 honor graduate of Atkinson Count County High School and had worked as an editor for the Glenn Press before becom becoming disabled several years ago. Survivors include husband, John Relihan of Brunswick, GA; son, Josh Relihan of Brun Brunswick, GA; grandchild, Madison Relihan of Brunswick, GA; parents, Nerle and Bill Billye Batten of Pearson, GA; 3 brothers, Norman Batten of Douglas, GA, David Batt Batten and wife Eugenia of Bowden, GA and Russell Batten and wife Margaret of Perr Perry, FL; sisters, Sandy Hersey and husband Kenneth of Douglas, GA and Nancy Meas Measels and husband Mark of Douglasville, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Relihan were held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 11 a. a.m. at Wesley Chapel Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. H.P. Murray of officiating. Special musical selections included "Sweet Bye and Bye" rendered by by soloist Mark Measels with Patty Spivey accompanying at the piano an and "Amazing Grace" was presented by the attending congregation with Patty Sp Spivey at the piano. Patty Spivey pianist played soft music for the prelude and th the postlude. The interment followed in Royals Cemetery. Several as active pallbearers were Donovan Batten, Shane Hersey, David Batten, R Russell Batten, Gerald Corbett, Vance Peterson. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
