The Atkinson County Citizen, Pearson, GA
 Mrs. Annie O'Neal Rowell, age 81, of Willacoochee, GA, passed away Wednesday, 
Jan. 20, 1999 at Memorial Medical Ceneter in Savannah, GA following a short 
illness.
 A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Rowell was born Aug. 27, 1917, daughter of 
the late Willis James and Hazel Mae Leedom O'Neal. She was a homemaker and a 
member of Willachoochee Holiness Baptist Church.
 Survivors include her husband, Emory Rowell of Willacoochee, GA; one son and 
daughtger-in-law, Burnell & Ruby Anderson of Douglas, GA; two daughters, 
Verneil and husband, Chester Hall of Willacoochee; Doris Yancey, of 
Willacoochee; One brother, J. W. O'Neal of Willacoochee, GA; two sisters; 
Margaret Logue and Christine McLendon both of Douglas; 13 grandchildren, 10 
great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and 
nephews.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Rowell were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1999 at 
the Willacoochee Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. David Rowe, Rev. Bessie 
Lewis and Rev. Levy Jones officiating. Special musical selections, Beulah Land 
and What a Day That Will Be were sung by soloist Derrick Soles with Ms. Gay 
Ann Hodge accompanying at the piano. Soft piano music for the prelude and the 
postlude was provided by Ms. Hodge.
 The interment followed in the Lax Cemetery with Greg Soles, Kevin Vickers, 
Buddy O'Neal, Jimmy Young, Timothy Davis and John Rowe serving as active 
pallbearers. Gillis Carter, Herman Tucker and Kenneth Hunkapiller were 
honorary pallbearers.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
