Royals, age 58, of Pearson, GA passed away Sunday morning, December 24, 2006 at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center in Lakeland, GA following an extended illness. Mrs. Royals was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, September 5, 1948, daughter of Dan and Ozelle Minchew Sports. She was a long time resident of Pearson, GA where she was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Royals of Pearson, GA; sons, David Royals and wife Jenny of Naples FL and Joshua Turner of Blackshear, GA; daughters, Melissa Gurley and husband Craig of Pearson, GA, Carla Ann Royals of Pearson, GA, Sandra Gail Jordan and husband Nickie of Dixie Union, GA and Sheila Joan Rowell and husband Wayne of Waycross, GA; sister, Linda Gail Turner of Blackshear, GA. Thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Royals were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Elder William O. Wildes, Bishop Steve Sirmans and Bishop Jamie James officiating. Special musical selections included "Roses Will Bloom Again" rendered by soloist, Zenda Adair with taped accompaniment and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" rendered by Faron Royals, soloist and guitarist. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Ellen Hardee, pianist. The Interment followed in Bagley Cemetery in the Bickley Community. Serving as active pallbearers were Chris Turner, Steve Johnson, John Haymen, Craig Gurley, Ted Glascock, Ronnie Turner. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
