A native of Pearson, GA, Mrs. Royals was the daughter of the late John and A Alma Mae Bradford Griffis. Mrs. Royals was a homemaker and a member of the C Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Pearson Ward. She was preceded in d death by her husband, Joseph S. Royals, Sr. Survivors include sons, Alfred Royals and wife Irma of Axson, GA, Joseph Royals and wife Gail of Pearson, GA; daughters, Annie Mae Cribb of Waycross, GA, Judy Ann Zimmerman of Waycross, GA and Richard Zimmerman of Pearson, GA, Jennell Thomas of Pearson, GA, Joyce Mullis and husband Larry of pearson, GA; 25 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; s several great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Royals were at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson GA. With Bishop Kevin Merrell, Bishop Steve Sirmans, and Bishop Dan Vickers officiating. The eulogy was given by Richard Zimmerman. Special music selections were “Beautiful Zion Built Above” and “God Be With You Till We Meet Again” rendered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Pearson Ward Choir with Ellen Hardee, pianist and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” rendered by Charles and Tammy Tammy Wood with Charles Wood on the guitar. Ellen Hardee, pianist provided soft music music for the prelude and postlude. The interment followed in Royals Cemetery with the dedication of the grave by Bish Bishop Jamie James. Serving as active pallbearers were grandson Jamie Royals, Bernard Zimmerman, Jus Justin Morgan, Scott Morgan, Rick Fogle, Curtis Fogle, Mike Fogle, David Roy Royals, Andy Royals, Mark Royals, Adam Royals.
