A native of Clinch County, Ms. Smith was born December 31, 1957 daughter of Mitchell "Buddy" and Madeline Braswell Adams. She previously worked at Cady Industries as an inspector and was a member of Indian Mound Baptist Church. Survivors include, 1 daughter, Sylvia Josey and husband Ricky of Hazlehurst, GA; parents, Mitchell "Buddy" and Madeline Adams of Axson, GA; 4 brothers, Preston Adams of Pearson, GA, John Adams of Mathews, GA, Clarence "Bo" Adams of Cogdell, GA, Jimmy Adams and wife Kittie of Axson, GA; 5 sisters, Madie Rivers and husband Ricky of Pearson, GA, Pamela Garrett and husband James of Axson, GA, Barbara Metts and husband Mike of Mora, GA, Mary Luke and husband Keith of Axson, GA, Bonnie Sue Adams of Cogdell, GA. 4 grandchildren, Justin Josey, Madeline Josey, Zachary Josey, and Candace Josey. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Ms. Smith were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Indian Mound Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Davis and Rev. Edgar Musgrove officiating. Special musical selections included "Precious Memories" and "Amazing Grace" rendered by Candace Thrift, Terry Palmer and Regina Delk accompanied by Betty Davis at the piano and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" rendered by Terry Palmer accompanied by tape. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Betty Davis, pianist. The interment followed in Indian Mound Cemetery with Madie Rivers singing, "God On The Mountain" at the graveside. Serving as active pallbearers were, Ricky Braswell, Randy Braswell, D.J. Gurley, Ron Touchton, T.J. Bagley and Lushin Braswell. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Garrett, David Oliver, Bengi Adams, Juanita Scott and Allen Brown. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
