A native of Pearson, GA Mr. Spikes was born February 13, 1951, son of T.I and V Vidalee Vickers Spikes. He worked as a heavy machine operator and was a member o of Knights Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Spikes was preceded in death b by his parents T.I and Vidalee Vickers Spikes and brother, Mr. Carlie Spikes. Survivors include, wife, Annie Spikes of Pearson, GA; 4 brothers, Lonnie Spikes and wife Frances of Pearson, GA, Jimmy Spikes and wife Wanda of Homerville, GA, Lee Spikes and wife Lisa of Pearson, GA, Gary Spikes and wife Sheila of Jacksonville, GA; 6 sisters, Janice Buchannon and husband David of Douglas, GA, Betty Watson and husband Dennis of Lakeland, GA, Linda Douglas and husband Joe of Broxton, GA, Mary Taylor of Pearson, GA, Nina Spikes of Pearson, GA and Barbara Edge of Pearson, GA; special sister-in-law, Beverly Spikes of P Pearson, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Spikes were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Antioch Missionary Baptist with Rev. Jimmy Spikes, Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. Bobby Spikes Fields officiating. Special musical selections included, “Going Home” rendered by soloist Angie Watson accompanied by Judy Mullis at the piano, “Go Rest High on that Mountain,” Wish You Were Here” both rendered by soloist Brian Suggs with CD accompaniment and “Amazing Grace” rendered by the congregation with Judy Mullis at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Judy Mullis, pianist. The interment followed in Sunnyside Church Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Russell Hurlbert, Steve Hurlbert, Jr., Terry Morris, Brandon Morris, Jeremy Spikes, Tony Stevens. Honorary pallbearers were Leon Spivey, Hinky Matthews, Allen Spikes, John Edge. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements. rendered by the congregation with Judy Mullis at the piano.
