Born October 27, 1949, in Berrien County, Mr. Steverson was the son of Allie Thomas and Minnie Floyd Steverson. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Willacoochee industrial Fabrics until poor health forces his retirement. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing and looking for arrowheads. He also enjoyed anything to do with any type of machinery. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Willacoochee. He was preceded in death by twwo infant sons, Charles Ray Steverson, Jr. and Gregory Steverson. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Steverson of Willacoochee; son, Kevin Steverson and wife Laura of Willacoochee; two daughters, Nikki Wetherington and husband Chris of Willacoochee and Jennifer Williams and husband Jeff of Nashville; two brothers, Billie Steverson and wife Louise of Alapaha and Lamar Steverson and wife Gail of Jacksonville, FL; sister Nellie Smith of Callahan, FL; six grandchildren, Sydney Steverson, Katherine Williams, Nathan White, Slade White, Rachel White and Christin Wetherington; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 19 at 2 p.m. at Willacoochee First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Huffstuttler and Rev. Russell Joiner officiating. The Eulogy was given by Jimmy Mathis. Special musical selections included "Stroll over Heaven," "One Day at a Time," and "Go Rest High on that Mountain," rendered by soloist, Jason Hunkapiller, with taped accompaniment. Soft music for the prelude and the postlude was played by Meagan Joiner, pianist. Interment was in Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Reid Dillingham, Neal Floyd, Steve Scott, Jimmy Mathis, Tony Lanier and Mike Duggan. Honorary pallbearers were Junior Cooper, David Floyd and Quinton Dillingham. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of arrangements.
