Born March 27, 1935 in Coffee Co., Mrs. Was the daughter of Jacob Reason and Levenne Boutwell Hutchinson. She had worked for many years as a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. Her husband Ervin Stone, Sr. preceded her in death. Survivors include 2 sons, J.E. Stone and wife Hazel of Dupont, GA, Ervin Stone, Jr. and wife Pat of Pearson, GA; 3 daughters, Sylvia Walker and husband Johnny of Enigma, GA, Sandra Hawkins and husband William of Millwood, GA, Marion Mevar and husband Scott of Macomb, Mich; 1 sister, Claudine Rushing of Dothan, AL. 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Stone were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J.A. Anderson officiating. Special music included "Go Rest High On That Mountain" rendered by Betty Davis and Huey and Delores Bennett with Betty Davis at the piano, "I Dreamed of Mama Last Night" by Hank Williams, Jr. was presented by tape and "Long Black Train" was presented by soloist Terry Palmer with Huey Bennett accompanying on the guitar. Betty Davis pianist and Huey Bennett guitarist provided soft music for the prelude and the postlude. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Larry Hutchinson, Bobby Hutchinson, Chip Hancock, Dick Stone, Buddy Taft and Edward Stephens. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
