A long time resident of Pearson, GA, Mrs. Stone was born October 31, 1926 in Berrien County, daughter of Thomas and Mattie Miller Stephens. She was a homemaker and a member of Sweetwater Methodist Church in Pearson, GA. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by a son, Larry Rowe, brother, Lewis Stephens and two sisters, Tommie Lee McDonald and Mattie Joe Stephens. Survivors include husband Elmon Stone of Pearson, GA; son Gene Sizemore and wife Mary of Pearson, GA; step daughter Alisha Cross and husband Sam of Fitzgerald, GA; sister Willie Mae Courson of Pearson GA; daughter in law, Lynda Rowe; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Stone were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Sweetwater Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Special musical selections included, "Amazing Grace" rendered by the congregation with Mary Ann Williams accompanying at the piano" played by tape and "The Anchor Holds" rendered by soloist, Alicia Amerson, with taped accompaniment. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Mary Ann Williams, pianist. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Hank Sizemore, Wade Sizmore, Larry Rowe, Jr., Will Fain, Jim Clement, James Clement. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
