L. Stone, Jr. Mr. E. L. Stone, Jr., 82, of Pearson, Ga., passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Clinch Memorial Hospital in Homerville, Ga., following an extended illness. Mr. Stone, a native of Atkinson County, Ga., was born April 6, 1922, the son of Elam, Sr., and Nancy Harrell Stone. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include: several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stone was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Stone Brown, and two brothers, Curtis Brown and Marvin Stone. Funeral services for Mr. Stone were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. George O'Berry and Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Special musical selections, "Amazing Grace," "In The Garden," and "Precious Memories," were rendered by Christy Youngblood, Myra Musgrove, and Roxanne Musgrove, with Christy Youngblood accompanying at the piano. Mrs. Youngblood played soft music for the prelude and the postlude. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Steve Brown, Pat Brown, Greg Brown, Herman Tucker, Herman Gilbert, and Jason Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Smith, Wilburn Taft, L. G. Smith, Ron Daniels, G. W. Brown, Allie Purvis, and Jim Brown.
