Miss Taft, a native of Coffee County, has lived in Axson for most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Taft of Axson, GA; 2 brothers, Archie Taft and Joseph Taft, both of Axson, GA; 3 sisters, Rosie Beasley of Douglas, GA, Cathy Taft and Jennifer Taft, both of Axson, GA; 2 nieces; 3 nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Friday, July 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Ed Gilliard and Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating. The interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Atkinson County. Active pallbearers were Jeff Bennett, Buddy Bennett, Tracey Horton, Wesley Taft, Donald Hall, and Michael Horton. Special musical selections "Victory in Jesus" and "What a Day That Will Be" were rendered by the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church Choir, with Betty Smith at the piano. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
