Atkinson County Citizen - January 14, 2010
 Ms. Sharon Gloria Moody Thomas, 57, passed away early Monday morning, January 11
11, 2010, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. 
 Born in Atkinson County on November 22, 1952, Ms. Thomas had lived in Pierce C
County for the last 26 years. She was a caregiver having helped rear many c
children over the years and was lovingly called Ms. Sharon or Granny. She was a v
very active member of Living River Church of God where she had been a c
children's Sunday school teacher and a leader of the church choir. Ms Thoma a
also ran the Clothes Closet at the church and helped with food pantry. She was a
a daughter of the late Manning J. & Levina Robinson Moody and was also preceded i
in death by a sister, Salah Strickland, and her brother, Manning J. Moody, Jr. 
 Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristal & Matthew Norris and Sha
Sharon "Candy" & Kenneth Sirmons all of Blackshear; two sisters, Dephia Moody of 
of Pearson and Diane Anderson of Blackshear; 8 grandchildren, Wade Alridge, Jes
Jessica Alridge, Peyton Norris, Kayla Norris, Preston, Amanda Sirmons, Shawna Sir
Sirmons & Sherena Sirmons; great grandchild, Trinity Kiser; several nieces, nep
nephews and other relative also survive.
 Funeral services for Ms. Thomas will be held Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 20
2010, at 2 p.m. from the Living River Church of God. Interment will be in the Li
Living River Church of God. Interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery.
 Visitation for Ms. Thomas will be held Tuesday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. a
at Ms. Thomas residence. Ms. Thomas will lay in state at the church one hour p
prior to the service.
 Pearson-Dial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
