Atkinson County Citizen - January 2005
 Mrs. Martha Giddens Tyre, age 93, of Pearson, GA passed away Saturday morning, 
January 22, 2005 at Shady Acres Convalescent Center in Douglas, GA following an 
extended illness.

 A native of Clinch County, Mrs. Tyre was born December 27, 1911 daughter of 
Ken Jasper, Sr. and Mattie Lewis Giddens. She was a homemaker and a member of 
Refuge Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Tyre was preceded in death by her 
husband, Paul Tyre, Sr.

 Survivors include one son, Paul Tyre, Jr. and wife Janie of Pearson, GA, two 
grandchildren, three step grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several 
nieces and nephews also survive.

 Funeral services for Mrs. Tyre were held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2005 at 
Refuge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Alton Carver and Elder Alvin Johnson 
officiating. Special musical selections included "Amazing Grace," "Rock of 
Ages" and "Dear Friends Farewell," rendered by the Primitive Baptist Church 
Singers. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

 Active pallbearers were Robert Morris Brannon, James Scott Brady, Joseph W. 
Butler III, Jeffery T. Butler, Brian Waldron, Wiley T. Delk.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
