Atkinson County Citizen - March, 3, 2011
 Joshua Matthew Vickers age 26 of Lakeland, FL, passed away Saturday, February 
19, 2011 from "Influenza A" at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
 Joshua was born in Gainesville, FL with 3 major heart defects. Joshua was the 
loving son of Ann Vickers and grandson of Sam and Jeanette (Royals) Vickers all 
of Lakeland, FL. He is survived by his uncles and aunts, Richard and Sharon 
Vickers and Roger and Barbara Vickers also of Lakeland, FL. He had six cousins, 
Joseph Vickers, Mary Vickers, Sammy Vickers, Misty Vickers, Kalee Vickers and 
Wyatt Vickers. Joshua graduated from Lake Gibson High School in 2003 and worked 
8 years for RGIS as an Inventory Auditor. He is greatly missed by his mother, 
family and friends but will live on in their hearts and memories. He was 
preceded in death by his grandfather, Sam Vickers.
 Funeral services for Joshua were held at 10 a.m. Friday, February, 25, 2011 at 
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Axson, GA with Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. 
Jimmy Spikes officiating. Special musical selections were “Beulah Land,” “Go 
Rest High on That Mountain,” “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” and “Amazing Grace” 
rendered by soloist/pianist John Lang. Soft music for prelude and postlude was 
provided by John Lang pianist. The interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
 Serving as active pallbearers were Gary Spikes, Lee Spikes, Lonnie Spikes, 
Jimmy Spikes, Martin Stroller.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
