A native of Atkinson Co., Mr. Waddelle was born August 3, 1923 son of William Henry Sr. and Addie Harrell Waddelle. He was the owner and operator of Waddelle Furniture Store in Pearson and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as Bishop for many years. He was a member of American Legion Post 173 and U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by a son, William Henry Waddelle III. Survivors include, wife, Evelyn White Waddelle of Pearson, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Corbitt Mizell of Macon, GA; sister, Lois Massey of Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren, Melissa Devor and husband Neil of Calabasas, CA, Corbitt Mizell III and wife Loretta of Draper, Utah, Aimee Lee and Husband Scott of Maple Grove, Minn., Amanda Mizell of Salt Lake City, Utah, Donna Mizell of San Diego, CA, Brien Mizell of Macon, GA; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Waddelle were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, GA with Bishop Lamar Park, Bishop Dan Vickers and Bishop Ovid O'Neal officiating. Special family memories were given by Mr. Waddelle's grandson, Corbitt Mizell III. Special musical selections included "Oh My Father" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" rendered by the Pearson Ward Choir and "How Great Thou Art" rendered by the congregation with EmStarr Cribb, pianist. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery with the dedication of the grave given by Mr. Waddelle's son-in-law, Bishop Corbitt Mizell. Military Honors were rendered at the graveside by an Honor Guard Contingent from Ft. Stewart, GA. Serving as active pallbearers were: David Sirmans, James White, Charles White, Stanley White, Michael O'Neal, Danny O'Neal, Britt Adams and Porter Vickers.
