She was born on their family farm in Clinch County, GA on March 24, 1923. Evelyn was one of nine children born to Peter Parley White and Donna Melinda Roberts. She married William Henry Waddelle II on May 24, 1942 and together had 2 2 children. A long-time resident of Pearson GA, she, along with her husband, owned and operated Waddelle Furniture for 70 years. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous capacities. She and Henry also enjoyed serving an 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Washington D.C. Temple. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, keeping her grandchildren and loved visiting with friends and family. She was a passionate genealogist and found great joy in knowing her ancestors and descendants. To her, family was everything. She worked hard, loved life and enjoyed experiencing new things. Evelyn had a life-long passion for learning and sharing knowledge. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Ann Mizell and husband Corbitt of Macon, GA; brother, Willian “Bill” Alma White and wife Mildred of Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren, Melissa Devor and husband Neil of Calabasas, CA, Matthew Corbitt Mizell and wife Loretta of Prattville, AL, Aimee Lee and husband Scott of Plymouth, MN, Amanda Hansen and husband Christian of Salt Lake City, UT, Donna Mizell of Portland, OR, Brien Mizell of Macon, GA 10 great-grandchildren, Courtney Mizell, Parker Lee, Corbitt Mizell IV, Savannah Devor, Owen Lee, Addison Lee, Brady Mizell, Matthew Devor, Michael Mizell and Gabriel Fritsch; 4 sisters-in-law, Lois Massey of Jacksonville, FL, Thelma White and Marie White o of Tampa, FL and Ivonne White of Springville, UT; many close nieces, nephews a and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, William Henry Waddelle Jr., her son William Henry Wadelle III, 4 brothers, Perry, John, Leo and Bruce W White and 3 sisters, Ollie Mae Adams, Sarah Guest and Ethel Adams. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Waddelle on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pearson Ward. Services were officiated by Bishop Kevin Merrell. Preceding the funeral the Family Prayer was offered by Scott Lee, grandson-in-law. The pianist was Ellen Hardee and special musical numbers included “A Child’s Prayer” by Evelyn’s great-grandchildren, “Where Can I Turn for Peace” by Angie Odum and a flute solo of “Amazing Grace” by Kimberly Adams Chasteen. The Eulogy and special memories of Evelyn were given by Melissa Devor, Aimee Lee and Amanda Hansen, her granddaughters. Her grandson, Bishop Matthew Corbitt Mizell III delivered the sermon during the service. Prayers were offered by Ovid O’Neal and Christian Hansen, grandson-in-law. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery with the dedication of the grave by her son-in-law, Corbit Mizell II. Serving as active pallbearers were Brien Mizell (grandson), Danny O’Neal, Donnie O’Neal, Britt Adams, Jacob Adams, Ben Adams, Daniel Adams, Stanley White.
