A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Walker was born March 19, 1937 son of Clayton and Rebecca Neugent Walker. He was a poultry farmer and attended Sweetwater Methodist Church. Mr. Walker was also a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James E. Walker and Curtis Walker. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Pelz Walker of Pearson, GA; one son, Glenn Walker and wife Teresa of Pearson, GA; two grandchildren; Cody Walker and Sara Walker of Pearson, GA; three brothers, Blackie Walker and wife Dot of Lakeland, GA, Donald Walker and wife Valerie of Eufaula, AL, and Edison Walker of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters; Lounette Dupree and husband Perry of Locust Grove, GA, and Annette McKinnon of Pearson, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Walker were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Sweetwater Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Polk, Rev. James Polk and Rev. Leonard Wildes officiating. Special musical selections included "I Have Never Seen" and "How Great Thou Art" rendered by Rev. James Polk with guitar accompaniment. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Candace Brown, pianist. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Polk singing "Amazing Grace" at the graveside. Serving as active pallbearers were Locke Tanner, Charlton McKinnon, Carrol Carter, Darrell Walker, Derwin Walker and Michael Davis. Serving as honorary pallbearers were George Davis, Lester Davis, Roger Taft, Jesse Tanner, Ottis Register and William E. Giddens.
