A native of Berrien County, Mrs. Wall was born January 22, 1911 to the late Jim and Fannie Taylor Sumler. She has lived in Willacoochee since 1918. She worked in the shipyards in Charleston, SC during WWII and later as a nurses aide for many years at area hospitals. She retired from Berrien County Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. Mrs. Wall was a member of the Nashville chapter of Eastern Star #334 OES for over 50 years and a member of the Willacoochee United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband John Wall, 3 sons, Jessie Lee Wall, Julius Wall and Dean Wall, 1 daughter, Mary E. Wall and 2 stepsons, J. D. Wall and Bernard Wall. She is survived by one daughter, Betty J. Lewis of Fernandina Beach, FL; one son, James E. "Buddy" Wall and wife Betty of Wichita, KS; one step-son, Richard Wall of Florida; eleven grandchildren, Linda Jackson, Brenda Horine, Gary Wall, John (Skipper) Wall, Theresa Lerma, Danny Lee Wall, Justin Wade Lewis, Mary Lewis Martinez, Ronnie Flowers, Bernie Wall and Ricky Wall. Twenty-three great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Wall were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Willacoochee United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Stroud and Rev. Eddie Morrison officiating. Special musical selections included "Family Ties" rendered accapela by soloist Geneve Lewis and "In The Garden" rendered by Craig McKinnon with Kellie Ruth Lockwood accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Kellie Ruth Lockwood, pianist. The interment followed in Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Charlie Bray, Herman Tucker, Gillis Carter, Ed Tillman, Jimmy Grantham and Fred Paulk. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in the charge of the arrangements.
