Atkinson County Citizen - April 28, 2005
 Mrs. Mary Lou Weathers, 65, of Spruce Street, Whiteville died Saturday, April 
23, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born May 24, 
1939 in Atkinson County, GA, the daughter of the late Coy Willie and Burnell 
Blocker Maddox. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of 
Latter Day Saints.

 Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at the Whiteville 
Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by President Dennis 
Bell. Interment was held at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

 She is preceded in death by her husband, James Garland Weathers. She is 
survived by two daughters, Lynell Weathers Kissam and fiance, Glenn Mishoe of 
Wilmington, Lisa Weathers Fisher and friends Charlie Hall of Whiteville; two 
sons, Lamar Weathers and wife, Debbie of Whiteville and Loran Weathers and 
Evelyn Youngerman of Whiteville; stepmother, Sadie Alsobrook of Lenox, GA; two 
brothers, David Corbitt of Whiteville and Coy Maddox of Jacksonville, FL; two 
sisters, Linda Moore of Picayune, MS and Janice Patton of Boothville, LA; a 
nephew, Ricky Weathers of Savannah, GA; six grandchildren, Brandi Kissam, Bryan 
Kissam, Brandon Fisher, Brooke Fisher, Baleigh Fisher, and Kristopher Weathers.

 Serving as pallbearers were Adam Buffkin, Eric Buffkin, Greg Duncan, Evan 
Strickland, Judson Williamson and Sammy Blach.

 Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Weathers, Buddy Hucks, and Jule Winson, III.

 The family received friends on Monday, April 25th from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at 
Peacock's Chapel in the Pines.

 A peacock Service, Whiteville.
