White, age 61, of Axson, GA passed away September 21, 2014, Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, GA following an extended illness. Born February 7, 1953, in Clinch County, GA, Mr. White was the son of the late Claude, Sr. and Inez O’Berry White. He had made his home in the Axson Community for most of his life. He operated Quality Tire and Lube and along with his daughter Regina operated Quality Lawn Care. He also worked with his brother Claude in the land surveying business for many years. Roy loved talking to people and being outdoors with his fellow hunters. He also like to fish and brought many a string of fish to his wife Eunice. He was a member of Elbethel Church in Pearson, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise White. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Palmer White of Axson, GA; two daughters, Michelle Rowell and husband Chris of Douglas, GA and Regina Lankford and husband Wyman of Pearson, GA; two brothers, Claude White, Jr. and wife Sue of Pearson, GA and Ricky White and wife Genny of Axson, GA; sister, Earlene White of Broxton, GA; five grandchildren, Travis Burkett, Luke Rowell, Michaela Rowell, Claudia Rowell and Waylon Lankfor and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. White were held Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Elbethel Church in Pearson, GA with Mrs. Catherine Tanner and Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. Special musical selections included “The Sun’s Coming Up in The Morning” rendered by Charles and Tammy Wood with Charles on the guitar and “Amazing Grace” was offered as a congregational hymn with Charles and Tammy Wood leading and Charles on the guitar. Soft music for the prelude and the postlude was played by Francine Fender pianist. The interment followed in the Axson Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Chad Palmer, Luke Rowell, Andy Mercer, Travis Burkett, Erian Johnson, Lance Bryan, Mark Bryan, Clee Sirmans. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Jerden, Wayne Walker, Jimmy Spikes, Terri Barnes, Henry Taft, Buddy Moore, Irby Barlow, Randy Braswell, Karen Geiger, Tom Morris and James Joyce.
