Atkinson County Citizen - May 29, 2008
   Mrs. Nancy T. Wood, age 77, of Pearson, GA passed away Saturday, May 17, 
2008 at the Berrien County Hospital in Nashville, GA following a brief illness.
   A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Wood was born August 16, 1930 to Ira and 
Seleda Smith Taft. She was retired from the Atkinson County MR Center after 
many years of service. Mrs. Wood was a member of Elbethel Church and also 
attended Goodwill Assembly of God for many years. Mrs. Wood was preceded in 
death by her first husband, Jimmy Wood, second husband, John Dennis McDuffie, 
and a daughter, Patsy Wood Cook.
  Survivors include, 3 daughters, Willean Dell and husband, Jerry of Douglas, 
GA, Wylene Vickers and husband Gary of Axson, GA and Cynthia Dillingham and 
husband Kevin of Willacoochee, GA.
  Brothers, Johnny Taft of Axson, GA and Lonnie Taft of Nashville, GA; sisters, 
Shirley Murray of Pearson, GA and Minnie Benefield of Nashville, GA; 18 
grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; 
several nieces and nephews also survive.
  Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Wood were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 
20, 2008 at Sunnyside Cemetery with Bishop Steve Sirmans and Rev. Raymond Cason 
officiating. Special musical selections included, "I Can Only Imagine" rendered 
acappela by soloist, Josh Gurley, and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the attending 
congregation. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. Serving as active 
pallbearers were grandsons Brandon Spivey, Jeffery Dale, Danny Hodges, Jake 
Dillingham, Chaz Wood, Danny Sumner.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
