Charles was born May 22, 1951, in Pearson, Ga. He was married to Tammy Guthrie Wood, and they were married for twenty-nine years. He worked for Georgia Pacific for forty years. He began in the sawmill with Brunswick Pulp and paper in Pearson, GA working several areas in the mill. He worked mostly in the scale house.
