Mrs. Wright was born on December 1, 1915 to the late Ben and Vera Fales Harrell in Nicholls, GA. Mrs. Wright along with her family moved to Atkinson County in 1929. Mrs. Wright graduated from Pearson High School, South Georgia College and Georgia State Teachers College. Mrs. Wright married John R. Daniels on September 11, 1945. Mrs. Wright was a retired teacher having taught in the Atkinson County School System for forty- two years. Mrs. Wright was affectionally know as "Mrs. Ione" by her numerous students and friends. After retirement in 1977, Mrs. Wright married Milton H. Wright. Mrs. Wright served as President of the Atkinson County Retired Teachers Association from 1978 to 1987. In 1992 Mrs. Wright complied and published "History of Education in Atkinson County" a detailed accounting of Atkinson County Schools from the 1890's through 1992. Mrs. Wright was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Milton H. Wright, brother, J.Q. Harrell and sister Ethel H. Giddens. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Ron and Alice Daniels of Pearson, GA, two grandsons: Ben Daniels and wife Sonya and Brett Daniels of Pearson, GA; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kelley and Wesley Daniels all of Pearson, GA, devoted friend, Mrs. Marion Vining of Pearson, GA, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Wright were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Gilliard officiating. Special musical selections included, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" rendered by the Mt. Pleasant Church Choir and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the congregation and church choir with Betty Smith at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was provided by Betty Smith, pianist. The interment followed in Royals Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were, L. G. Smith, Allie Purvis, Henry Smith, Jr., James Gore, Jr., Leon Thigpen, and Roger Taft.
