Ashley S.Stone, Born:28 January 1874.Died 7 January 1929
Picture was copied from a old tin type given to me in the 1970's by Mary 
C.Harrell's sister's son. Mary Harrell was Ashley's second wife.when I was 
given the picture Mary had ben dead for a couple of years.Her sister was still 
alive living outside of Broxton,Ga with her son I do not remember there 
names,but Ashley's second wife, Mary Harrell was his first cousin. .The photo 
was suppose to be taken in 1890's on his wedding day to his first wife Ludy 
Cook.Ben Walter Stone

Ashley S.Stone marrid 1.Ludy Cook 2.Mary Cathrine Harrell,Ashley S.Stone is my 
greatgrandfather.He was the son of William Stone and Annie Harrell,who is the 
son of Marvil Stone and Elender Barrentine,Ashley's son Ben is my 
grandfather.Ben Stone married Ethel Mullis,the daughter of James McCajer 
Mullis and Delila Wilcox.,Edward is my father and Edna Bennett is my mother,I 
am Ben Walter Stone.
I was told in the 1970's that in Ashley's generation,people who did not have a 
middle name used their last initial as their middle name.I can not find in any 
records or documents a middle name for Ashley S.Stone .I did find in the old 
records of Mt.Pleasant church where he signed his name as Ashley S.Stone
Also his tomestone list him as Ashley S.Stone. 
Ashley was born in Coffee County,Ga.In the part of the county that was made 
into Atkinson County.He is buried in Mt.Plesant C emetery in Atkinson Co.,Ga.
