LEOLA C. LOFTON Mrs. Leola Crosley Lofton was born the 6th child of the late Mr. Dock and Viola Childs Crosley. She was born in Baker County, GA. December 3, 1902. She departed this life May 26, 1995 at Calhoun County Nursing Home, in Edison, GA. She received her education in the Baker County School System. She joined Christ C.M.E. Church at an early age where she served faithful until her illness. She was treasurer of the Women's Missionary Society and a class leader. She was always willing to help wherever she could. She was married to the late Mr. Jasper Curry, Sr. and to this union two children were born. The son and daughter preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Ida Freeman of Albany, GA; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ophelia W. Curry of Bainbridge, GA.; nineteen grandchildren, ninety-four great grandchildren, sixty-nine great-great grandchildren, one god-daighter, Mrs. Claudine Freeman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special cousin, Mrs. Ruby Zackery of Baker County, GA. and a special neice, Mrs. Eula Foster-Conaley of Baker County, GA. MRS. LEOLA LOFTON A GLIMPSE OF HER WHITE FAMILY, RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. Mrs. Leola Lofton was employed as a housekeeper and cook for the late Mr. Clarence and Unie Parr Bryan for 45 years. The widow of the late Mr. Clarence Bryan, Mrs. Ephelyn Rook Bryan. She helped to raise the three children and grandchildren of Mr. & Mrs. Bryan: "Buddy", Minister W.H. (Joy) Phillip & 3 daughters (Albany, GA.) "Sister", Mrs. Edith Ann (David) Tennyson & 2 sons (Albany, GA.) "Baby", Mr. Bill (Carol) Bryan & 3 sons (Leary, GA.) A lovely friend, Mrs. Naida Bullard Jordan (Leary, GA.) She cooked and served her good and yummy food to many relatives and friends. It is impossible to name them all-only you know who you are!
