Revelation 21:4 Mrs. Mattie Henderson Foster was born in Edison, Calhoun County, GA., April 3, 1904. She was the daughter of the late Ms. Della Stadford and Mr. Ben Henderson. She departed this life January 5, 1995 at Phoebe Putney Hospital, Albany, GA. She was a resident of Albany Health Care, Albany, GA. for 17-1/2 years. She became a Christian at a very young age and began her work in Christ's Kingdom at Christ C.M.E. Church, and was a faithful and ardent worker. She was President of the Missionary Society and leader of Class # 5 until her illness. She never refused a task because she was too busy or too tired. She was a lovable character, a person everyone chose to have as a friend and willing to be a friend to all. She was married to the late Mr. Bob Foster, and to that union there were five (5) step-children; three(3) sons and two (2) daughters. Her husband, three sons and one daughter preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Mrs. Eula Foster Conaley, Baker County, GA; one foster son, Mr. Henry Lee Jay, Orlando, FL; one foster- daughter in law, Mrs. Barbara White, Miami, FL; four sisters, Mrs. Roberta (Charlie) Douglas and Mrs. Thelma (Charlie) Baker, Leary, GA.; Mrs. Bonnie R. Brakes and Mrs. Annie Mae Henderson, Winter Garden, FL.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Cathrine Baker Daniels of Blakely, GA.; one devoted neice, Mrs. Susie Childs of Albany, GA; eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A very special cousin, Mrs. Dorothy (Jimmy) Sneed of Albany, GA; two loving friends, Mrs. Leola Lofton and Mrs. Ruby Zackery of Leary, GA. and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
