A. Adkins of Augusta, last week lost two of his brothers by death. Alex Hinton Adkins, age 48, of Elmodel, Ga., died Monday night March 2, at an Albany hospital. Lucius Walter Adkins, age 51, also of Elmodel, in Baker county died Sunday at the home of another brother, Dr. C. J. Adkins, in Adel, Ga., following an illness of a few days. Both were prominent in the civic and church life of their community, and natives of Jefferson county. Lucius Walter Adkins was laid at rest Monday afternoon, with funeral services at the residence in Elmodel, and with the local Masonic lodge, of which he was a member, assisting in the last rites and members of the order serving as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Adkins was a member of the school board, active in the Masonic lodge and a past master. Alex Hinton Adkins died of pneumonia following an attack of influenza. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Newton, Ga. He also was prominent in the Masonic lodge and members of the order formed an honorary escort at the funeral and conducted rites at the graveside. Mr. Adkins was postmaster at Elmodel and was a veteran of the World War and member of te American Legion. Besided their immediate families, the brothers are survived by the following relatives: Mother, Mrs. Willie Junior Adkins, of Adel; four brothers, W. A. Adkins of Augusta, H. G. Adkins, of Keysville, Ga., P. B. Adkins of Valdosta and C. J. Adkins of Adel; three sisters, Mrs. J. P. Clark of Valdosta, Mrs. J. M. Marsh, of Augusta, and Mrs. J. L. Meyer, of Adel.
