Cowan From the Baldwin County Courthouse, go west on Hancock Street for 2 blocks or 0.2 mile (or the one large block containing Georgia College & State Univ.). Turn right on Clarke Street. Go one large block or 0.2 mile. Turn left onto Highway 22 west (Montgomery St.). Go for 9.6 miles to the house at 644 Hwy 22. On the left side were 5 unmarked graves, with only scattered brick remains of markers in 1970. At that time, the graves were in a field just outside the yard fence of the house, but the brick remains are no longer visible in 1999. The Bonner family lived throughout this part of the county, and it is not certain that the 5 people in this cemetery were or are still located here.
