He died in Milledgeville March 28th, 1918. He was Steward of the Methodist Church from 1869 till the time of his death; he was Chairman of the Board of Stewards for perhaps thirty years, and Superintendent of the Sunday School for forty years. He served four years in the Confederate Army with the rank of Captain. He was wounded twice. He established the first wholesale Grocery business in Milledgeville, which is conducted now by his son, John Conn.
