Captain William Washington Williamson represented Baldwin County in the General Assembly in 1873 and 1874. Captain Williamson removed from Pulaski County to Baldwin County after the war. During the War between the States he enlisted as a private in the Pulaski Volunteers, Company G, Eighth Georgia Regiment, Bartow's Regiment; served with the Company from April, 1861, to the surrender at Appomattox in April, 1865, being promoted to first lieutenant and then to captain, which rank he held at the close of the war. He was a lawyer. Captain Williamson was the great grandson of Lieutenant Colonel Micajah Williamson, who was Lieutenant Colonel of Colonel Elijah Clark's Regiment in the Revolution. Micajah Williamson was the grandfather of Judge John A. Campbell, of the Superior Court of the United States, and the great grandfather of Judge L. Q. C. Lamar, also of the Supreme Court of the United States, thus being the first to have two of his descendants in that great Court. Captain Williamson married Miss Kate Clifford Kenan, daughter of Michael Johnston Kenan. Additional Comments: From: Part V HISTORY of BALDWIN COUNTY GEORGIA BY MRS.
