Federal Union publication from Milledgeville, GA. Issued May 14, 1844
 Departed this life, in Baldwin county, on the 6th inst.,
Mr. William Anderson, in the 72nd year of his age,
a native of Virginia, but for the last 38 years a resident
of this State.
 In announcing the death of this venerable and esteemed
soldier of that Revolution which "tried men's souls,"
and upon the events of which, was predicated the
liberty and independence of a great and happy nation; it is
but proper to state that he was a faithful cooperator in its
struggle—and consoling is the reflection to his numerous
relatives and friends, who mourn his separation, that he
should have had alloted so many days, for the enjoyment of
those blessings for which he toiled.
 The subject of this notice had for many years exemplified
the beauty of the Christian character as a member of the 
Baptist Church, and when summoned by an overruling Providence,
to the discharge of that debt, from which none can escape,
he calmly and peacefully surrendered the spirit unto Him
who gave it, with an unshaken confidence of the reality of
that happiness, which awaited the finally faithful.
