LOCAL News

Mr. T.A. Brown received a telegram yesterday from the superintendent of the 
State Sanitarium announcing the death of Mr. John Bird, an inmate of that 
institution, on Wednesday last. The deceased formerly resided in the Fourth 
district and was committed to the State Sanitarium about four years ago. He 
was 68 years of age and is survived by several children.
