Page E7 Mrs. Daniel’s Services Set The funeral for Mrs. Epsie Campbell Daniel, widow of former Columbus City School Superintendent Roland B. Daniel, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the 13th St. Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with burial in Riverdale Cemetery. Mrs. Daniel, 99, was born Sept. 15, 1879 in Jacksonville, GA. After graduating from Monroe Female College, now Tift College, in Forsyth, Ga., she became a music instructor. Mrs. Daniel, who lived at 1630 Hilton Ave., Columbus, died Tuesday at her home. She received her master’s degree in home economics from Columbia University in New York, and taught at Baylor University, Texas. She was state supervisor of the home economics program at the University of Georgia at Athens from 1919 to 1935. In 1935 she married Dr. Daniel. Throughout the years she was affiliated with professional, honorary, civic, religious and service organizations. She was director of the Red Cross office in Columbus during World War I, a member of the American Association of Home Economics, American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended First Baptist Church in Columbus, and taught the Anoma Sunday School Class 27 years. Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn D. Cox, Birmingham, Ala., and Mildred D. Loriden, Atlanta, a nephew and two nieces. Additional Comments: Epsie Campbell Daniel, was the daughter of G. W. and Eliza Ennis Campbell of Telfair County, Georgia and the granddaughter of Pleasant M. and Evalina Minor Ennis of Baldwin County, Georgia.
