"Mrs. Harrison was 94 years of age, but notwithstanding her age she was able to be up and about the house before her death. She had resided in Atlanta since the War. Her husband was for many years and to the time of his death secretary of state of Georgia. Mrs. Harrison was a woman of exemplary Christian character and by her many excellent traits had attracted about her a large circle of friends. "For several years her children had gathered together on the anniversary of her birthday, and three years ago four ministers, paster of churches to which her children belonged, were present. Those same four ministers, Dr. W. W. Landrum, Dr. Theron H. Rice, Rev. C. P. Bridewell and Rev. C. B. Wilmer, conducted the funeral services. The children of Mrs. Harrison are Messrs. Z. D. Harrison, James P. Harrison, George W. Harrison, Mrs. G. H. Starke and Mrs. E. Y. Clarke, Mrs. Starke was taken ill about the same time as her mother and is still very ill. Hopes are entertained for her recovery. "The remains were accompanied to this city by Col. Z. D. Harrison and son, Rev. Hendree Harrison, Mr. James P. Harrison and daughter, Miss Fannie, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Harrison and young Mr. Clarke. Many friends of the family met the remains at the depot, from whence they were conveyed to the cemetery where the burial service was conducted by Rev. J. A. Wray pastor of the First Baptist Church of this city. "The pall bearers were Mess. J. N. Moore, J. M. Caraker, Adolph Joseph, J. J. Wootten, T. L. McComb, and A. J. Carr. "Mrs. Harrison's old age was blessed with a devoted family of children. Sons, daughters and grand-children united in their efforts for her comfort and happiness. The love that clustered about the dear old mother was beautiful to see, and her great patience and strong Christian character was an inspiration to the noble family who blessed her memory."
