Johns MILLEDGEVILLE -- Bessie McMillen Johns, 83, died in Wednesday in a local hospital. Services will be held at 3pm Friday in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Baldwin County. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Collins will officiate. A native of Wilkinson County, Mrs. Johns lived in Baldwin County for many years and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Lavender of Milledgeville and Louise Brewer of Irwinton; a sister, Eva Humphries of Eatonton; a brother, Parnele McMullen of Milledgeville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Moores Funeral Home in Milledgeville. Additional Comments: Bessie was born 14 Aug 1904 to John E. McMullen and Susie E. Allen McMullen. Her 1st husband was Mitchell Coxwell who is buried in West View Cemetery in Milledgeville, Ga. Her 2nd husband was Henry E. Johns.
