I Abner Flewellen of the county and State aforesaid, being weak and sick in body, but of perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament. 1st. Item. I give my Soul to God who gave it, and my body to the dust from whence it came, confiding in the merits of Jesus Christ for a Joyful resurrection. 2. Item. As to my worldly goods it is my will and desire that they be disposed of and I do hereby dispose of them in the following manner. 3. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Patsey Mathews wife of Timothy Mathews the following property, to wit, two negroes, namely David and Marina, and the increase of the said Marina if any together with the Stock and furniture now in the possession of her said Husband Timothy Mathews, which I have heretofore given her -- to her and her heirs forever/ 4. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son William Flewellen, one tract or Fractional Survey of Land, lying and being in the county of Twiggs (Swamp Land) formerly the seventh district Baldwin County and known in the plan of said district by lot number one hund= and forty seven Resurveyed by David McCord on the fourteenth day of September 1808, and granted to myself on the 7th day of March 1811, also the one half of a tract of pine land purchased jointly by myself and Timothy Mathews from Sampson Lane -- The title to which land has been made by the said Sampson Lane to Timothy Mathews -- It is therefore my will and desire that the said Timothy Mathews do make title to my son William to the one half of said square when called on so to do -- also one negro man named Jacob and his wife Nelly and increase if any -- one yoke of oxen and cart, two cows and calves, three sows and pigs, one half of my Books, one bed and furniture, one trunk, half dozen chairs, and one horse to him and his heirs forever. 5. Item-- I give and bequeath unto my daughter Betsey Lane Holt, wife of Tarpley Holt, the following property, to wit, Six negroes namely Dice and her five children, Surry, Reddick, Critty, Matilda, and Emilly, and increase of any, together with what Stock and furniture, I have heretofore given to her -- to her and her Heirs forever. 6. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Flewellen four negroes, namely, Esther, Gilly, Diley and Lary, with increase if any -- one bed and furniture, one horse bridle and Saddle, one trunk two cows and calves & four Ewes, to her & her heirs forever. 7. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Abner H. Flewellen three negroes, namely Esau, Alfred and Dianna and increase if any, one horse bridle and saddle two cows and calves, three sows and pigs, six Ewes, the one half of my Books -- one bed and furniture one desk and Bookcase, one Beaufat [Buffet] & nine chairs, the one half of the kitchen furniture & plantation utensils to him & his heirs forever. 8. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Peggy Flewellen five negroes, namely Sally, Stephen, Sylvia, Gilford [sic - only 4 named], and three hundred Dollars in money, one horse bridle & saddle, on Bed and furniture, one trunk, two cows & calves and four Ewes to her and her heirs forever. Item 9th-- I give and bequeath unto my son William Flewellen in addition to the fourth Item four Ewes, two parts out of five of any stock of Goats, one Table and what Kitchen furniture and plantation utensils he has now in his possession. 10 Item. I lend unto my beloved wife Nancy Flewellen, the plantation whereon I now live together with the following negroes, namely Lewis, Winney, Carmel, Ben, aggy, Charlotte, Harry and Daniel together with what Household & Kitchen furniture, plantation utensils and Stock of all kinds not already disposed of, for and during the term of her natural life or widow [sic], and at her death of Marriage the land and plantation to become the property of my son Abner Flewellen and should my son Abner arrive at the age of twenty one years before the death or marriage of my said wife or the said Abner should himself marry then it is my will and desire, that he have the one half of the profits of the said plantation -- and my said wife the other half and at her death -- it is my will and desire that the said negroes and increase if any together with what Stock furniture etc. not already bequeathed be equally divided among all my children the Survivor or Survivors of them or their Heirs. Item 11. It is my will and desire that wife Nancy Flewellen retain in her hands and possession, the property herein bequeathed to my children Nancy, Abner & Peggy until the come of Lawful ageor marry, and that they be genteely supported out of the same -- That my daughter Peggy and son Abner, be educated in such manner as my Executors may deem best. Item 12. I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Nancy Flewellen, Extx, Timothy Mathews, William Flewellen and Tarpley Holt Exrs. Of this my last will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of Sept. 1812.
