Office of the Probate Judge of Baldwin County, Georgia State of Georgia} Baldwin County } In the name of God - amen. I John R. Moore of said State & County, being much advanced in age, but of sound mind & disposing memory deem it prudent to make some disposition of my worldly effects and to that end make & proclaim this as my last will & testament. 1st I will & devise that all of my just debts, if any exists at the time of my death to be paid as soon as practicable by my executors herein after named. 2nd. I will & bequeath to my beloved wife Christiana Moore for & during her natural life time my entire property, real & personal, if to pay my debts or to maintain my said wife, should she survive me any sale of real estate should be necessary, I will & devise that the portion of my land known as the Spoole Lot containing 202-1/2 acres more or less or so much thereof as may be necessary be used & sold for that purpose. 3rd. At the death of my said wife Christiana, I will & devise that my entire estate remain to be sold & the Half proceeds thereof be divided equally per capita between the children of my sons Thomas M. and Benjamin F. Moore - & the children of my grandson, Dauphin L. Pitts the other Half proceeds of the sale of my property I will and allow my wife Christiana to dispose of by will as she may desire, but conditioned if she makes no will, the half herein allowed her for disposition to be the [?] the property of my grandchildren & greatgrandchildren on same terms and specifics in this section & the afore named. 4th. I will & devise that my Executor retain & use so much of my Estate as is necessary to erect a suitable headstone over my grave & that of my former wife Mary D. Moore. 5th. To carry this will into effect I here nominate & appoint my friends Charles W. Gause - David P. Brown & Joseph R. Bullington Executors of this Will. In witness whereof I the said John R. Moore hereunto set my hand & seal this 16th day of May 1867. John R. Moore (LS) Signed, sealed, published & declared by he above name John R. Moore - as his last will and testament the presence of us who at his request in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. Samuel H. Hughes A. B. Moore J. W. Hertz 1869. Personally appeared before me this day Dr. J. W. Hertz, one of the subscribing witnesses of the last will and testament of John R. Moore, of said county (decd) who being duly sworn says that he saw the testator John R. Moore, sign, seal & declare the same to be his last will & testament. & that he was at the time of said signing, sealing, and declaring, of sound mind & disposing memory and that he did it freely & without compulsion, so far as he knew & believes. And He the deponent further says that he subscribed his name as a witness thereto in the presence of said testator & the other witnesses to wit, Samuel H. Hughes & A. B. Moore.
