July 28, 1892 Kicked by a Mule. Homer, Ga., July 27- Mr. C. A. Meeks happened to a very painful accident last Sunday about noon. He had started into the stable to feed a mule and stumbling fell headlong into the stable, when the mule kicked and struck him on the forehead, cutting a fearful gash nearly four inches in length. He was picked up and carried to the house by Mr. Sam Mason, who happened to be near by. Dr. Lockhart, of Homer, was sent for and rendered the necessary attention. An artery was torn, which caused considerable loss of blood, but fortunately the skull was not fractured.
