February 8. W. W. Threlkeld, a well-known citizen of Banks County, committed suicide this morning by cutting his throat. No cause has been assigned for the act, which has created much sensation throughout this section. Mr. Threlkeld was a successful farmer and a prominent Mason. Arising early this morning, Mr. Threlkeld kindled the fire and did various little chores about the house. When the other members of the family had dressed for breakfast he was found in a room with a deep gash across his throat. Additional Comments: Wiley J. Threlkeld (not "W. W.") was born in Madison County in August of 1854 to Julia Ann Threlkeld. He married Eliza J. Brooks 28 January 1875 and resided in Banks County until his death.
