Walker mott@cetlink.net July 25, 2005, 12:44 pm Greenville News, Greenville, SC, October 3, 1947 MACK AUSBURN DIES IN SOUTH CAROLINA Funeral services for Mack S. Ausburn, 63, farmer of the Brushy Creek section of Anderson County who died at his home yesterday morning after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted by C.F.Candler, Rev.S.J.Gardner and Rev.W.J.Jordan. Interment was in the church cemetery. The following nephews served as pallbearers: Calvin Phillips, Vance Ausburn, Edward Sellers, Thomas Ausburn, Joe Richard Ausburn and Curtis Bloodworth. Honorary pallbearers include the deacons of Siloam Baptist Church together with Martin James, Edgar Murphy, Raymond Bridges, Reece Chafin, Hoyt Davis, Fred Roe and George Roper. A son of the late J.B. and Nancy Vaughn Ausburn, he was born near Cornelia, Ga., and continued his residence there during his early life. Twenty-six years ago he located in Greenville County and lived at Judson for a number of years before moving to his home in the Brushy Creek section eight years ago. At the present time he was a farmer but formerly did textile work. Mr. Ausburn was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. His wife, Mrs. Vera Westbrook Ausburn, survives him with one son, Homer H. Ausburn of North Greenville Junior College; two sisters, Mrs. L.S.Sellers of Greenville and Mrs. Sallie Pool of Toccoa, Ga.; three brothers, Robert Ausburn of Homer, Ga., Burt Ausburn of Piedmont and Richard Ausburn of Pelzer in addition to four grandchildren.
