VENIA POOLE AUSBURN

Venia Poole Ausburn, 91, of Piedmont, S.C., widow of Bert L. Ausburn, died 
July 26, 1989, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Rebecca 
Sellers Poole. Mrs. Ausburn was a homemaker and was formerly employed by 
Duncan Mill in Greenville. Mrs. Ausburn was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, 
the Mothers Sunday school class, the Training Union class, the Forever Young 
Club, the Pickens County Chapter of Gold Star Mothers and was a Gold Star 
Mother.

Surviving are son, Thomas Ausburn of Greenville; daughter, Mrs. Thelma Wilson 
of Piedmont; brother, Dorsey Poole of Toccoa; sisters, Irene Morgan of Homer; 
Grace Thompson of Alton; Ophelia Heath of Mt. Holley, N.C.; Gertrude 
McAllister and Elizabeth Garrison of Cornelia; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-
grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

Services were July 28, at Siloam Baptist Church by the Revs. Michael Cloer and 
Clyde Garrison. Burial was in the church cemetery.
