Johnnie Massey Ward Kesler, 86, of Jefferson died Saturday. 

Born in Jackson County to the late John William and Eula Rice Massey, she was a 
retired seamstress and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She also 
was preceded in death by her husbands, Colie J. Ward and Charles W. Kesler; 
sisters, Thelma Venable, Ruth Venable, Doris Thurmond and Oris Kesler; 
brothers, Herbert Massey and Ralph Massey; and three grandchildren. 

Survivors include her daughters, Gayle Ward Doster, Statham, and Joyce Ward 
Sullivan, Winder; sons, Dennis Ward and Dwight Ward, Jefferson; 10 
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.   
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Bethany 
United Methodist Church. The Rev. Hulon Hill and the Rev. Johnny Ray will 
officiate. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder.
